About this project |

Designing a two-storey house for a family in Nakornsawon, Thailand is an exciting challenge. The owners of the house have a unique requirement. They want a house design that accommodates their expanded family and provides space for their business. Furthermore, they want to create a comfortable living environment for their aging parents. The design team has worked carefully to design a house that balances aesthetics with functionality and comfort.

The location of the house in Nakornsawon, Thailand, is a crucial factor in the design process. The house is located on the same land where the family operates its business. Therefore, the design team must create a structure that caters to both the residential and commercial needs of the family. The two-storey design enables the family to segregate the business operations from the residential space.

The exterior of the house has been designed to reflect colonial style and traditional Thai architecture with a modern twist. The use of natural materials such as wood, stone, and concrete creates a unique blend of modernity and tradition. The front of the house features a large entrance with a large main door, which adds grandeur and elegance to the overall design.

The interior of the house has been designed with the family's needs in mind. The ground floor accommodates the recreations of the family, with a reception area. The upper floor houses the residential space, which includes three large bedrooms, a living and reading room. The bedrooms are spacious and well-ventilated, with large windows that provide ample natural light and ventilation. The living room is designed to provide a cozy and comfortable space for family gatherings and relaxation.

One of the critical design aspects of the house is to cater to the needs of the elderly parents. The design team has ensured that the house is elder-friendly by incorporating features such as ramps, grab bars in the bathroom, and non-slip flooring. The bedrooms on the upper floor have been designed with en-suite bathrooms to provide maximum comfort and convenience for the parents.

The design team has carefully integrated the needs of both generations into the design of the house. The house's layout allows for private spaces for each family unit while providing communal spaces for family gatherings and interactions. The design team has incorporated outdoor spaces such as a garden and a terrace, which provide an excellent space for family bonding.
