About this project |

The owner's dream of a modern and elegant Thai house has been brought to life in the heart of Bangkok's bustling Phaholyothin 35 area. The design team's primary focus was to create a home that blended seamlessly with the Thai architectural style while being modern, clean and elegant. To achieve this, they emphasized proportion, material, and color scheme while keeping in mind privacy, security, brightness, and ventilation.

One of the most significant challenges the team faced was the small site's proximity to neighboring properties. To address this issue, they created an enclosed volume of space that allowed for privacy and security. At the same time, the use of voids within the design allowed for natural light and air to flow freely throughout the house, ensuring that the owner would feel comfortable and relaxed.

The house's material and color scheme were carefully selected to give it a distinct Thai-modern feel. The use of locally sourced materials such as teak wood, stone, and concrete gave the house a natural and earthy feel. The colors used in the design were inspired by the Thai environment, with rich earth tones and warm, inviting hues dominating the interior and exterior design.

The house's proportions were also taken into consideration to give it a Thai-modern feel. The design team used traditional Thai architectural techniques such as vertical proportions and layered rooflines to create a harmonious balance between the house's modern features and the traditional Thai architectural style.

The interior of the house was designed with a minimalist approach to accentuate the space and allow for natural light to flow freely. The use of neutral colors and warm lighting created a calming and relaxing atmosphere that perfectly complements the natural materials used in the house's design.

This house is a testament to the design team's skill and expertise in blending modern and traditional Thai architectural styles. The use of natural materials, carefully selected colors, and a minimalist approach to the interior design all work together to create a comfortable and inviting home that perfectly embodies the Thai-modern style. The design team's attention to privacy and security, along with the inclusion of voids for natural light and air, ensures that the house is as practical as it is beautiful. Overall, the Chansawang Family's Thai-modern house is a stunning example of how modern and traditional architecture can be successfully blended to create a timeless and elegant home.
