About this project |
This condominium interior project, located in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok, was designed for two siblings with distinct personalities and aesthetic preferences.
The older sister favors a refined white palette with a clean and elegant atmosphere, while the younger brother prefers warmer wood tones with subtle retro accents and expressive colors. The design approach embraces these differences, creating a shared living environment that allows each identity to coexist harmoniously within one unit.
A key focus of the project lies in the custom-built furniture and interior detailing. The team explored experimental techniques in built-in design, such as transforming the wooden legs of a traditional Thai “tang” (platform seat) into wardrobe handles—introducing cultural reference in a subtle and contemporary manner. A low-relief sculptural headboard was also crafted to add texture and depth to the bedroom space, turning a functional element into a tactile focal point.
Rather than applying a single decorative language throughout, the project demonstrates how interior design can respond to individual character while maintaining overall coherence. It is a study of contrast, craftsmanship, and personalization within a compact urban home.
